GMA Network creative consultant and head writer Suzette Doctolero publicly countered Alvin Aragon’s statements criticizing the name, costumes, and dance style of the SexBomb Girls.

Aragon’s remarks resurfaced following the group’s reunion concert, where he explained why his wife, Izzy Trazona, had previously resigned from the iconic all-female group.
In a Facebook post, Doctolero reposted a video clip of Aragon’s interview and directly addressed what she described as a misguided perspective.
“Hindi sex o libog ang hanap ng mga nanood sa Sexbomb concert. Ano mapala ng mga libo-libong bading, mga bata at babae na nanood?” she wrote.
She emphasized that the appeal of the group went far beyond sensuality.
“Aliw, nostalgia, relatability, makalimot sa toxic na mga issue at problema, at simbolo ng kabataan nila ang Sexbomb Girls,” she added.
In the interview, Aragon questioned the appropriateness of the group’s name and performances, linking them to moral and religious concerns.
“I-explain ko kung ano bang mali sa pangalan. SexBomb, ano ba ‘yong sex? Iisipin lahat ng bata, ano ‘yong sex? Sex is actually created by God, na ginagamit ng husband and wives. Not girlfriend, boyfriend. At hindi dapat isipin ng bata agad ‘yon.
“Medyo iwas do’n. Hindi pleasing ‘yon. Hindi magandang impluwensiya sa maraming tao sa Pilipinas, sa mga bata especially,” he said.
According to Aragon, Izzy distanced herself from the group in line with what he described as God’s will.
As of writing, Aragon has not issued a response to Doctolero’s remarks.
