“Juan dela Cruz” was formally launched along with other ABS-CBN’s seven other new shows for 2013 on Wednesday night at the ABS-CBN Thanksgiving Trade Launch at the NBC Tent in Taguig City.
In “Juan dela Cruz,” Martin will portray the latest in the lineage of the “Tagapagbantay.” Bearing a holy cross that can shift into different weapons — a whip, a staff, an arrow, and a sword — the 31-year-old actor’s character will battle the forces of evil.
Martin will be reunited to Erich Gonzales, who will play the role as an aswang hunter. The two have previously worked together in the indie film “Noy.”
Also included in the cast are Joel Torre, Gina Pareno, Louise Abuel, Lotlot de Leon, Neil Coleta, Arron Villaflor, Jaime Fabregas, Izzy Canillo, Mylene Dizon, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Albert Martinez.
