8 Movies to compete in 2014 Metro manila Film Festival (MMFF)

From 13 submitted entries, it’s now down to 8 movies to compete on this year’s Metro manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) gave a list of the eight (8) official entries for the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival 2014. Last week, the MMDA gave a partial list containing 13 film entries where only eight will be chosen.

Here are the Final 8 (at random) 2014 Metro manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries:

1. KUBOT: THE ASWANG CHRONICLES 2
Starring: Dingdong Dantes, Isabelle Daza, Lovi Poe
Directed by Erik Matti
Production Outfit: Reality Entertainment, GMA Films, and Agostodos Pictures

2. PRAYBEYT BENJAMIN 2
Starring: Vice Ganda and Richard Yap
Directed by Wenn Deramas
Production Outfit: Star Cinema and Viva Films

3. FENG SHUI 2
Starring: Kris Aquino and Coco Martin
Directed by Chito Roño
Production Outfit: Star Cinema

4. MY BIG BOSSING’S ADVENTURES
Starring: Vic Sotto and Ryza Mae Dizon
Directed by Marlon Rivera
Production Outfit: Octoarts, MZET, APT Entertainment

5. SHAKE, RATTLE, & ROLL 2014
Starring: Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana
Directed by Jerrold Tarog
Production Outfit: Regal Films
6. ENGLISH ONLY, PLEASE
Starring: Sam Milby and Angeline Quinto
Directed by Dan Villegas
Production Outfit: Quantum Films and Heaven’s Best Entertainment
7. MAGNUM MUSLIM .357
Starring: ER Ejercito
Directed by Francis “Jun” Posadas
Production Outfit: Scenema Concepts International
8. BONIFACIO
Starring: Robin Padilla and Iza Calzado
Directed by Lawrence Williams
Production Outfit: Philippians Productions

Those who did not make it are Whistle Blower starring: Nora Aunor, Cherry Pie Picache, Bernardo Bernardo; Above the Clouds starring: Pepe Smith and Ruru Madrid; Kid Kulafu starring: Cesar Montano and Alessandra de Rossi; Bonggagster starring: BB Gandanghari’ and Kung ang Hanap mo ay Ligaya sa Buhay starring: Boots Anson Roa and Ronnie Liang. The two alternate Films (reserved in case a film backs out) of MMFF are the films Kid Kulafu by Paul Soriano and Kung ang Hanap mo ay Ligaya sa Buhay by Elwood Perez.

The MMFF is part of the annual film festival in Metro Manila, Philippines held from December 25 until the first week of January the following year. During the festival, no foreign films are shown in the Philippine theaters in order to showcase locally produced films.

    At gaya ng inaasahan, mga kung anu-anong pelikula laang ang ipapalabas. Interesante at ibinabalik ang action movies, na sinimulan sa Asiong Salonga (nga ba?). Mas maganda nga laang kung merong ibang bida. Okay naman rin si ER Ejercito, pero wala na bang action stars?
