We thought it’s “Monica Brava,” but according to this article from PSN, the Kapuso Network will do another remake of “Marimar.”
The Mexican soap opera “Marimar” is set to have a Filipino version once again by the Kapuso Network. Yes, you heard it right! GMA Network will be doing another story-telling of beloved character “Marimar” after seven years which launched brighter careers for now Kapuso royal couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. “Marimar” was originally a Mexican TV telenovela that was first aired in 1994 on Televisa with singer-actress Thalía on the title role.
“Marimar” is the story of a very poor and naive woman who lives in a beach hut with her dog, Pulgoso, and her grandparents. Sergio, the son of the Ibañez estate, falls in love with Marimar. The two get married, not realizing the hostility of Sergio’s family to the marriage and their unbounded determination to separate them.
The said series will air maybe in the third or fourth quarter of 2015. The remake of “Marimar” will be placed in GMA Telebabad, of course! Another drama series worth watching. With a new breed of stars in it, this will surely be another taste.
