It started from Benjie Dorango’s status post on Facebook, “Tagpo sa isang wake ng sikat na personality:
Media: Mam/sir, nakikiramay po kami sa pagkawala ng anak ninyo.
Parents: Salamat. Magi-interview ba kayo? May honorarium kasi kami pagini-interview. 5000 pesos lang naman. Salamat.”
Though this TV5 reporter did not mention who exactly he is writing about, this triggered the speculations and assumed that Dorango’s talking about the deceased Jam Sebastian. This made some of Sebastian’s supporters to comment Dorango’s Facebook wall:
Jerald Vincent Zumel: “Journalism at its finest. Smh. Lupet ng balita mo tsong, kung balita mang matatawag yan. Hindi ako fan ng Jamich, in fact, hindi ko sila trip. Pero para magpost ka ng “balita” na kinuha mo lang sa bibig ng kapwa mo “mamamahayag”, antindi mo. You are the epitome of how aspiring journalists should never be. Your idiocy is beyond measure.”
Vin De Jesus: “Ikaw Ba talaga yung nag tanong oh nakalap mo lang yan sa ibang Tao na Chismis ? #NARESCUE5DRE”
These accusations of desperately trying to squeeze out blood from their situation thinking they will gain public sympathy instantly was used as joke by Jam’s brother Yexel which was done in bad taste. Maybe Yexel is just joking but these accusations are not funny and should be taken seriously.
