#ForChefHasset: A Night of Music, Friendship and Awareness to Fight Cancer

On July 31, 2015 (Friday), a benefit show for Chef Hasset (Go) dubbed “#ForChefHasset“ featuring various celebrities and personalities who will perform and auction off their beloved items to aid in the cancer treatment of Chef Hasset Go, will be held at Chef’s Noodle, SM City North EDSA, 8pm.

Chef Hasset, or Hasset to his close friends, was diagnosed with liver cancer months after his brother Rowden Go suffered from the same disease last year. The world witnessed, through a touching video, the fulfillment of Rowden’s wish to marry his long-time girlfriend and fiancée Liezel. Rowden lost the battle against the debilitating disease just hours after he said his vow to Liezel but the video, which has more than 14 million in views as of today, is a gentle reminder to always cherish every moment with loved ones.

With the same disease as his brother, Chef Hasset may have gone through invasive operations and multiple chemotherapy treatments but his faith in God and the strength of his will remains solid. Together with the overwhelming support from his family and friends, Chef Hasset believes without a doubt that he will be cured and will be cancer-free in due time.

Hasset, also known as the “Sweets Master” is a chef, food consultant, food stylist, instructor/teacher, and a businessman. He has put up a business of homemade cakes, pastries, and desserts called MEDCHEF together with his business partner, and is the general manager of a French restaurant, Le Jardin, in Taguig City.

One of Chef Hasset’s group of friends, #KCOF whose name he himself coined organized “#ForChefHasset“ in which all proceeds will go to Chef Hasset’s treatment against cancer. The show will be a night of music and celebration of friendship that they have molded over the years. “Through the benefit show that we are putting up for Chef Hasset, we will be able to raise funds for his well-being. That he may live longer and continue to be the great man that he already is,” said one of the members of #KCOF.

Celebrities and personalities have also joined in to help raise funds for the benefit show which include performances from Pinoy Dream Academy scholars Miguel Mendoza, Cris Pastor, and Laarni Lozada; The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 contestants Timmy Pavino, Emil Sinagpulo, and Vanessa Monot; Forevermore’s Lilet Esteban; MOR 101.9 Best New Artist of 2014 Garth Garcia; recording artist and commercial model Giu Comia; TV 5 host and actor Lucky Mercado; DZMM anchor and columnist Ambet Nabus; the newest heartthrobs in town and Universal Records artists VoiceMale; ForeigNoy Aisaku Yokogawa; and actor Marc Solis.

The benefit show will also have a celebrity auction featuring items from celebrities such as Janice De Belen, Robi Domingo, Gretchen Ho, Francine Prieto, Dimples Romana, and Sebastian Castro and news personalities including Nina Corpuz, Ryan Chua, and Jing Castaneda. These items will also be auctioned off before the event via For Chef Hasset page on Facebook.

Join us in a night of music and friendship and help us fight cancer in the #KCOF produced benefit show for Chef Hasset on July 31, Friday at 8pm at Chef’s Noodle, SM City North Edsa (near Hypermarket). Tickets are priced at P500, which includes one drink. All proceeds of this event will go to Chef Hasset’s treatment against cancer.
