After the marvels and spectacles that the AlDub Sensation brought on Philippine Television, the GMA Artist Center sees brighter future for newly titled “Kapuso hunk” Derrick Monasterio.
Derrick has been invited guest at Miss World Philippines on October 18, 2015 where he will serenade the girls in singing the event’s theme song.
There have been reports that Mr. Monasterio has been receiving quite a lot of projects from the GMA Network. According to a report of Ms, Nitz Miralles from PhilStar – Showbiz, Derrick will be one of the cast of a big time project of GMA 7 of an undisclosed remake of the network’s most popular teleserye. As a matter of fact he his now with Julie Ann San Jose in Korea to join her there at a concert. He was very happy and excited knowing he’ll meet K-Pop artists there.
After being dubbed as a certified hunk by the Kapuso network and also being a National Youth Commission ambassador he’s now gearing to boom-up more his career.
Now, is it even safe to say that Derick is comparable to some of the Filipino prime time soap hunks of today such as James Reid, Alden Richards, and Enrique Gil?
To answer this, Monasterio has already gained enough audience to win nominations and bagged awards such as Best Male New TV Personality (Tween Hearts) at the 25th PMPC Star Awards for TV in 2011 and German Moreno Youth Achievement Award at the 60th FAMAS Awards in 2012.
Some notable nominations for which he also earned a lot of experience as an actor were Outstanding Breakthrough Performance by an Actor (Tween Hearts) at the ENPRESS Golden Screen TV Awards in 2011 and in 4th PMPC Star Awards for Music’s New Male Recording Artist of the Year for 2012.
