When people think of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, the first thing that usually comes to mind is its iconic saltwater lagoons.
Stretching across the property, these man-made waterways have become one of Cebu’s most recognizable resort attractions.

But after spending four days exploring the resort with the RAWRTrip team, we discovered that Plantation Bay offers much more than picturesque lagoons and beautiful views.
In fact, one of the biggest surprises during our stay was just how many activities were available within the resort itself. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, a content creator, a wellness traveler, or someone simply looking to relax, Plantation Bay has something for everyone.
Here are the must-do experiences we highly recommend when visiting Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.
1. Explore the Lagoons on a Wheebo
If there’s one activity that almost everyone in our group couldn’t stop talking about, it would be the Wheebo.

Think of it as a floating bicycle that lets you navigate the resort’s massive lagoons at your own pace. Unlike kayaking, which requires constant paddling, the Wheebo allows guests to leisurely pedal around while enjoying the scenery.
For Cassiopeia, it was one of the most worthwhile activities during the trip.
“Sarap ikutin ng pool gamit yung Wheebo while controlling it by yourself.”
It’s fun, beginner-friendly, and a unique way to appreciate the sheer scale of Plantation Bay’s lagoons.
2. Experience the Indoor Firing Range
One of the most unexpected highlights of our stay turned out to be the resort’s indoor firing range.
For first-timers, it’s an exciting introduction to target shooting in a safe and controlled environment.
Lau described it as the activity that gave her the biggest adrenaline rush during the trip.

“It was a mix of nerves and excitement since it was my first time holding a gun.”
Cassiopeia also ranked the firing range among her favorite experiences, proving that Plantation Bay offers activities you wouldn’t normally expect to find inside a beach resort.
If you’ve never tried target shooting before, this is definitely a must-do.
3. Feel the Rush of Jet Skiing
Sometimes you need a little speed to balance all the relaxation.
The jet ski experience gave our group exactly that.

The combination of wind, water, and adrenaline instantly became one of the most memorable moments of the trip. The nonstop laughter and screaming while speeding across the water turned the activity into an unforgettable group experience.
If you’re looking for something more thrilling than swimming in the lagoons, jet skiing should be at the top of your list.
4. Challenge Yourself with Archery and Wall Climbing
Plantation Bay isn’t just about water activities.
The resort also offers land-based adventures that test your focus, coordination, and physical endurance.

Archery gives guests a chance to channel their inner Katniss Everdeen, while wall climbing provides a fun challenge for those looking to push themselves physically.

These activities are perfect for families, groups of friends, and even corporate teams looking for something different between meals and pool sessions.
5. Start Your Day with a Sunrise Swim
Sometimes the best activity doesn’t require any equipment at all.
One of the most recommended experiences from our stay was simply waking up early and enjoying the lagoons before the rest of the resort comes alive.
For Aldrine, this became one of the most memorable moments of the trip.
“Morning swim sa saltwater lagoon bago uminit. The water is so still, perfect for reflection and photos.”
The calm waters, peaceful atmosphere, and soft morning light create a completely different experience compared to the busier afternoons.
It’s also one of the best times to capture stunning photos of the resort.
6. Book a Spa Treatment
After spending the day swimming, exploring, and trying various activities, there’s no better way to recharge than with a visit to the resort’s spa.

The spa quickly became one of the favorite spots among members of the group.
The relaxing ambiance and professional treatments offer the perfect escape after an active day.

Whether you’re dealing with travel fatigue or simply want to indulge in a little self-care, setting aside time for the spa is highly recommended.
7. Watch the Hawaiian Luau Dinner Show
Plantation Bay’s evening entertainment deserves a spot on every guest’s itinerary.
One of the standout experiences during our stay was the Hawaiian Luau-themed dinner show.

According to Aldrine, the production value was impressive.
“The effort in the choreography and costumes is top-tier and you’ll really feel like you’re in Hawaii.”
It’s not just dinner—it’s a full cultural and entertainment experience that adds another layer to your Plantation Bay stay.
8. Go on a Resort-Wide Photo Walk
Content creators and photography enthusiasts will find no shortage of beautiful locations throughout the property.
Among our favorite photo spots were:
- The wooden bridges crossing the lagoons
- The sandbars located in the middle of the lagoons
- The archways near the reception area
- The beachfront during sunrise
- Fiji Restaurant’s alfresco dining area
- The hammock and garden sections throughout the resort
Because of the property’s size and variety of landscapes, it’s possible to spend hours exploring while capturing different types of content.
9. Indulge in Plantation Bay’s Dining Experiences
A Plantation Bay vacation wouldn’t be complete without exploring its food offerings.
Fiji Restaurant became a favorite among our group, particularly for its ramen and relaxing atmosphere.

Kilimanjaro Kafē impressed with its breakfast buffet, while Aldrine remains loyal to what Plantation Bay proudly calls its World’s Best Kare-Kare.
The food experience alone is worth setting aside time for, especially since each restaurant offers a distinct atmosphere and menu.
10. Save Parasailing for Your Next Visit
Despite spending four full days at the resort, there was still one activity we weren’t able to try: parasailing.
That’s probably the best proof of how much there is to do at Plantation Bay.
While we managed to experience many of the resort’s signature activities, parasailing remains at the top of our list for our next visit. Seeing Plantation Bay and the surrounding waters from above is something we’re definitely looking forward to experiencing in the future.
What makes Plantation Bay Resort and Spa special is that it doesn’t force guests to choose between relaxation and adventure.
You can spend your morning swimming in tranquil lagoons, enjoy a massage in the afternoon, test your aim at the firing range before sunset, and end the day watching a themed dinner show.
After four days, one thing became clear: Plantation Bay isn’t simply a place to stay while visiting Cebu. It’s a destination designed to be experienced.
And even after four days, we still left with a list of activities waiting for us on our next visit.
