For the past eleven months, there were several blockbuster Filipino movies that were released. To provide you a complete list of 15 best movies of 2015, I did not just consider it’s highest total gross income but it’s worth and movies that has biggest impact and influence into moviegoers lives.

Here’s a rundown of highly appreciated movies that we watched throughout this year.

1.) “Heneral Luna”

heneral luna qJohn Arcilla portraying the role of Heneral Luna, an aggressive leader of an army; perfectionist, fervent and strict while as a pal to his lieutenants outside of their camp Luna has a very wild hilarious humor that comes with a sense of responsibility to humanity.

A good movie released this year about leadership and family, protecting one’s ego, the character of Luna showcased every leader’s dilemma that no matter how far it takes to comply with your aims, a leader will still be there for his subordinates and for the territory even if it means losing number of soldiers in the middle of the fight.

2.) “A Second Chance”

a second chance

A very relatable movie to every people and a sequel to “One More Chance” John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo delivered yet another applaud able roles in exposing the painfully delicate marriage, imperfect relationship and despite of intense scenes on the film, it never fails to make people fall in love. Indeed too good to be true film that were able to enhanced concrete parts of every relationship and what is like to hold on to your partner and still believe in the magic of love.

3.) “The Little Thing Called Tadhana”3-That-Thing-Called-Tadhana

Starred by Angelica Panganiban and JM de Guzman, a story about two strangers who met at the airport and agreed to go on a road trip together to mend their broken hearts.

This movie directed by Antoinette Jadaone shows simplicity and the willingness to forgive the people who have hurt you in the past, accepting one’s fate is one of the hardest decisions you will ever face.

“The Little Thing Called Tadhana” taught us to fight for our love even if it means accepting one’s mistake over and over again and willingness to love the same person because you believe he/she has the power to return the favor and there is no one in this world who could replace them in your heart.

4.) “Crazy Beautiful You”

crazy beautiful youA heart-touching movie about siblings, mother and daughter relationship, Kathryn Bernardo played the role of Jackie Serrano a rebellious daughter from a wealthy yet broken family while Inigo Pascual (Marcus Alcantara) and Daniel Padilla (Kiko Alcantara) are half-brothers with the same love interest to Jackie.

When Jackie’s mother (Lorna Tolentino) went to a province for a medical mission, it makes their path crosses, where Jackie confronted and blaming her mom for leaving them when they were still kids, without knowing the reason why she has to fly in United States. A movie that represents the hardships of a mother and the consequences of a failed marriage to the children.

5.) “Etiquette for Mistress”10-Rules-of-MistressesThe story revolves about women empowerment and a friendship of 5 mistresses surviving on the forbidden relationship, there are no wars and bikinis between mistress and the legal wife on this movie and perhaps, “Etiquette for Mistress” taught us when it comes to love, there are no assurance that you will not be hurt, sacrifices are inevitable and true love often times arrives when you least expect it, among these 5 mistresses only Iza Calzado is lucky enough to be chosen by Tirso Cruz, when he is about to die.

This movie encompasses that love indeed can moves in mysterious ways and you just have to have guts to conquer everything even if it means turning your back to your profession just to be with the one you love.

6.) “You’re My Boss”

youre-my-boss-310x410A romantic-comedy movie about a perfectionist boss and her assistant who end up switching roles just for the sake of the biggest client of the company.

A light, funny and meaningful movie that showcased the beauty of Batanes, Philippines during their trip that made you want to visit and explore the province of Batanes.

A real portrait of a career woman who will do everything to be on top of the organization and what are the factors that contributes to her unexplainable attitude towards her colleagues, while Coco Martin who plays the role of Gino who came from a family living in the province with one goal in life; to be able to help his grandparents who raised her to meet-ends.

7.) “Felix Manalo”felixx manalo

“Felix Manalo” movie was released two months after the Iglesia Ni Cristo rally happened in EDSA that causes too much traffic and people going home from work are the most affected ones, they had a hard time going back home from their respective office because there are no transportation available within the area.

This movie explained the humble beginnings of its leader Felix Manalo as well as its rich history of the church, strengthening its bastion and attract those non-members.

The film focuses on how one man can be as strong as a lion just to find answers to his own quest and thus Dennis Trillo was able to deliver a good and even role that makes each movie critique not to utter a single negative feedback.

8.) “Ex with Benefits”

ex with benefits

The new collaboration film of Star Cinema and Viva Films, ideal for moviegoers that would like to satisfy themselves to see a glimpse of flesh with sensual scenes, intimate love story between a doctor and nurse love affair.

This film was able to bring out the capabilities of Coleen Garcia to perform the farthest and biggest role she ever had in the movie and TV industry.  Illustrating a might -have-been couple who seem cannot find true love because until on the present day, both are not yet moved on with their past intimacy.

9.) “Kid Kulafu”Witness-the-young-Manny-Pacquiaos-journey-in-Kid-Kulafu-460x280

Right before he became ‘Manny Pacquiao’ all over the world, this movie illustrates the sacrifices, difficulties he went through in life. How Manny were able to finish the impossible endless line of struggles that did not made him stop from winning in life.

A masterpiece of Director Paul Soriano full of compelling, dramatic and narrative story-line of Filipino World Champion Boxer, his humble beginnings has motivated its audiences on how to cope-up with different aspects of life no matter how the situation is impossible and turning your tragedy into success.

10.) “Everyday I Love You”maxresdefault

A bizarre love triangle between Liza Soberano, Gerald Anderson and Enrique Gil, presenting an emotional journey whereas Gerald a hot-headed boyfriend of Liza was in coma, and Enrique works as a workaholic and dedicated TV Producer yet lacks compassion towards his colleagues.

In the climax of the story, Liza was torn in choosing who’s the perfect man to love between his boyfriend Gerald who did nothing but to treated her as second priority and who realized the worth of having his girlfriend around and Enrique as an ideal and notable man that can provide nothing but every woman’s desire when it comes to relationship.

In the end, this film taught us to appreciate the ones we love until we have our time to make them feel that they are special and letting go of someone you truly love to make her happy.

11.) “The Love Affair”The Love Affair

A heartrending movie by Star Cinema that tackles about the three most important priorities in life that we must pay attention but we’ve been failing to prioritize such as: Family, marriage and self-discovery. “The Love Affair” influenced the people on how to keep yourself to be classy and educated person when it seems the situation cannot be controlled anymore.

Another remarkable lesson that this movie has taught us is how to choose between a responsibility and your need, in line with this, what is your stand when you’re in the middle of choosing between the person you married in front of the altar or the person you have known only for quite some time and thinking that you will be able to establish better relationship compared to your failed marriage?

12.) “The Breakup Playlist”

Piolo-Pascual-Sarah-Geronimo-The-Breakup-Playlist-Trailer-960x500

Among the other local movies were released this year, “The Breakup Playlist” is the only film that includes music at the center of each protagonist’s life. Trixie portrayed by Sarah Geronimo is a law student who have a typical Filipino parents that who’d like to their dreams to come true through their daughter, Trixie accidentally bumped to Gino (Piolo Pascual) who currently looking for a lead vocalist to his band.

This film illustrates the flaws, arguments and what is really happening between a couple when it seems that the woman is more successful compared to her partner. This influenced the majority of the audiences that no one in the circle of your friends either from your family members that could help you to move forward after your heart was torn into pieces, you are the only one who can convince yourself to move forward.

13.) “The Prenup”Jennylyn Mercado Sam Milby in Prenup SamMilbyJennylynMercadoThePreNup

A film starred by Jennylyn Mercado as Wendy and Sam Milby as Sean who at first are foes became friends and turn as couple by accident, Wendy (Jennylyn Mercado) and Sean (Sam Milby) in New York. As soon as they landed in Philippines to arrange for their marriage, conflict starts to rise when family from their both sides with different social classes seem not to get along well.

“The Prenup” is such relatable movie for everyone who are going through same situations, letting the opinions of other people to manipulate your own decision in your life.

Hence, no one is entitled to maneuver your priorities, decisions and success, falling in love might be dangerous but taking risks is worthwhile.

14.“Just the Way You Are”

Star Cinema Just The Way You Are

A film adaptation of a best-selling book from Wattpad, the story plot is very generic but this movie has its way on our list because of the leading stars as protagonist in the film, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil were successful on delivering each role given to them. They were able to save the film due to their acting skills as well as their chemistry.

“Just the Way You Are” is a solid testimony that whatever roles in TV series and movies given to these two on-screen partners, there is no other way to make it but perfect!

15.) “No Boyfriend since Birth”No Boyfriend Since Birth

This has a cliché story-line, propelling a story about a girl who does not have any boyfriend since birth and still holding on to the belief that her ultimate crush will fall in love with her. This film shows our today’s generation wherein young women tends to court and willing to do everything just for the man they love, losing the morality of a woman. NBSB serves as an example of young generations that must be stop and be reminded of how each woman should act and decides.
