In a press conference for her upcoming concert “The Queen Mother in Concert”, Karla Estrada issued a sarcastic statement to the bashers of KathNiel.
Asked directly by the press as to what she could say to KathNiel‘s bashers, PEP quoted Karla saying,
“Kailangan pa ba? Huwag na tayong magsayang… Alam mo naman, hindi sila nakapaglaro ng Chinese garter, piko, at saka jolens noong araw. Baka malungkot ang kanilang childhood.” (Is it needed? Let’s not waste our time…You know, they were not able to play Chinese garter, hopscotch, and marbles in the past. Maybe they had miserable childhoods.)
In an industry where competition is tight among the current crop of love teams, the tandem of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo has not been spared from bashing. Fans of other love teams have made it a practice to bash KathNiel just because they want to, and not for any other reason.
Karla is happy that despite the negative comments, KathNiel seems unaffected. Though she did not confirm anything about the current status of the love team, she says she is satisfied with whatever relationship Daniel and Kathryn has at the moment.
She is also happy to see that they have a good team or partnership because they support and uplift each other,
“hindi sila nega na love team.”(they are not a bad/negative love team )
Through the power of social media, fans have found a way to express their admiration and support for the celebrities they adore. At the same time, that power had been misused by a lot of fans who had also resorted to bashing stars, or love teams, who are directly competing with their idols.
We do hope that in the future, fandoms will just focus their energies in supporting their idols and not indulge in hurling negative comments against others, be it true or not. No one is perfect after all.
