Star Cinema’s rainy season opening salvo “The Achy Breaky Hearts” starring Richard Yap, Ian Veneracion and Jodi Sta. Maria has reached ₱14 million mark at the box office on its opening day on Wednesday (June 29), according to producer Star Cinema.

The film directed by Antoinette Jadaone tells the story of Chinggay (Jodi), a woman in her 30s who is desperate to find love after she remained single for seven years. Chinggay then finds herself torn between two men: her ex-boyfriend Frank (Richard) who tries to win her back, and Ryan (Ian), a heartbroken man who finds a confidante in Chinggay.
