Photos taken by the two policewomen with the former matinee idol drew flak on social media after their photo went viral. The viral photo received mixed reactions, mostly negative from the netizens.
The actor is currently detained at Station 6 of the Angeles City Police Office.
Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said he will refer the incident to the PNP’s Internal Affairs Service (IAS), the unit which probes erring cops. “I will refer this matter to the Internal Affairs Service. Tanungin ko sila kung ano nalalabag nila na policies, ano nalalabag nila na batas (I would ask them what policies and law the policewomen have violated),” he said.
The embattled actor was arrested on Sunday for possessing one kilo of marijuana, has been charged with offenses which would disallow him to post bail for release.
Fernandez is the son of the late veteran actor Rudy Fernandez with former Parañaque City councilor who ran for senate last elections, Alma Moreno. He has a history of drug use and even volunteered to enter Bicutan Rehabilitation Center in 2004. He made a comeback in showbiz six months after.
