DALY CITY, CA, May 19, 2017 – Come June 3, 2017, the winners of the 46th Annual Northern California Area EMMY® Award will be announced when the Emmy® Gala returns to SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco. For the first time, ABS-CBN International’s Lifestyle Network — a multiplatform living and travel guide brand that understands the lifestyle needs of modern Filipinos around the globe — scored a record for itself when it harvested seven nominations in various categories.
The EMMY® award is presented for outstanding achievement in television by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). San Francisco/Northern California is one of the nineteen chapters awarding regional Emmy® statuettes. Northern California is composed of media companies and individuals from Visalia to the Oregon border and includes Hawaii and Reno, Nevada. Entries aired during the 2016 calendar year.
This year, 735 English entries were received in 62 categories and 212 entries in the Spanish contest (up 44) in 45 categories. English and Spanish language entries were judged and scored separately. The results were tabulated by the accounting firm Spalding and Company.
