Marlo Mortel and Janella Salvador were partners in Be Careful With My Heart and Oh, My G! They were also the Prince and Princess of Morning Daytime Drama.
Marlo said that he was disappointed that their love team, MarNella, was disbanded. He said, “Hindi naman yung talagang panghihinayang. Yung talagang pinanghinayangan ko ay yung momentum namin. At sa relationship namin na from Be Careful With My Heart, diretso na kami sa Oh, My G!, nanghihinayang ako na hindi ko na siya nakikita.”
When Elmo Magalona transferred rom GMA Network to ABS-CBN, he was immediately casted as Janella’s love team, forming ElNella. Marlo admitted that he was hurt when he was replaced as Janella’s partner.
Marlo stated, “Of course, na-hurt talaga ako, kasi I did my best. Pinatunayan ko naman na may kaya rin ako as a leading man. Na-hurt ako sa part na yun, pero mas naging driven ako. Hindi ako papayag na maisantabi ako dahil alam kong may talent ako. Kailangan kong gawin rin ito para sa family ko.”
Marlo had move on and is now happy with his career. On the rumored off-screen romance between Janella and Elmo, Marlo gives is 100% support.
“Kung ano talaga ang makakapagpa-happy sa heart niya, kung fulfilled siya dun, I’m super happy for them. Dahil ang importante sa akin ay yung happiness ni Janella.”
Marlo was asked if Janella and Elmo looked good together and what’s his reaction on the news about the two being a couple. Marlo gave a simple yes and explained,
“Bagay sila? Oo naman. Kapag nakikita mo na happy sila sa isa’t isa, so bagay yun for me. Hindi ko alam kung… kasi ang tagal na ring hindi kami nagkakasama ni Janella, e. Huling kita namin nung mag-guest siya sa concert ko, pero hindi namin napag-usapan. Actually, hindi ko alam, hindi talaga namin pinag-usapan.”
Marlo stated that he is still friends with Janella and that they still talk as often as they could.
“I’m happy for them. And siyempre, for Janella. Kami ni Janella, supe close, and lahat naman ng success niya ay napag-uusapan namin. Yun, napag-uusapan namin yung career niya, on what to do. Happy naman ako. Right now, bihira na kami mag-text sa isa’t isa, unlike before. Viber minsan, pero hindi na. Pero kapag nagkita naman kami, walang nabago. Yung relationship naman na na-built namin, pareho pa din.”
