Neil Ryan Sese felt the pressure on starring the upcoming Ang Forever Ko’y Ikaw. The daytime drama series will also star Camille Prats, Ayra Mariano and Bruno Gabriel.
Neil just recently moved up to the leading-man status, however, he will be pitted against Robin Padilla and Richard Yap in Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko.
The ABS-CBN daytime drama stars Jodi Sta. Maria in a dual role.
In the recent media conference of Ang Forever Ko’y Ikaw, Neil stated that he feels extra pressure on being pitted against Robin. He expressed his gratitude to the GMA Network on the trust they gave him for the role and acknowledged how he always gets a kontrabida role. Neil added that this will become his first romantic lead ever.
“Nakaka-pressure kasi Robin Padilla na yun, di ba? Isa lang naman akong Neil Sese. Ako, nagpapasalamat ako sa network, sa GMA, sa sobrang laki ng tiwala na ibinigay sa akin para ibigay ang project na ito o isugal. Alam naman natin na lahat ng ginagawa ko ay puro kontrabida, character roles. Ito yung first romantic lead na gagawin ko sa buhay ko, kilig-kiligan pa.”
Neil admitted that he never expected this. He disclosed that he had to cover up his tattoos for the wholesome role. He also added that tattoos look acceptable when playing a more antagonistic role.
“Never in my life na naisip ko ‘to. Sabi ko nga sa set… May mga tattoo kasi ako na kailangang tanggalin sa scenes. Sabi ko, ‘Sorry talaga. Kasi hindi ko nai-imagine na magiging ganito yung role ko, e.’ Kasi, kapag kontrabida naman, okay naman ang may tattoo, di ba? Hindi ko talaga naisip.”
Neil added that he remains proud for taking up this project. He continued that this will be the project where he doesn’t kidnap anyone, no one will die and/or no one’s kids will go missing and he is proud of being a part of a feel-good daytime series.
“Ito yung project na walang kinidnap, walang mamamatay, walang mawawalang anak, wala. Kaya sobrang nakaka-proud na, for the first time in life, gumawa ako ng ganitong project, bida pa ako, ‘tapos feel-good pa yung show.”
