- Cavs-Warriors IV goes Live nationwide on ABS-CBN, S+A
- LeBron collides with the Hamptons 5 in the NBA Finals
For the fourth year in a row, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors will meet in the NBA Finals and Filipino basketball fans all over the nation can watch the entire series LIVE on both ABS-CBN ch.2 and ABS-CBN S+A ch. 23 starting Friday (June 1) at 9 am.
ABS-CBN Integrated Sports, with a mission to inspire and entertain Filipinos through sports, is giving viewers the option of watching the games with the original English commentary on S+A and S+A HD, or with Filipino flavor on “NBA sa ABS-CBN” with panelists Boom Gonzalez and coaches Ronnie Magsanoc and Benjie Paras. TJ Manotoc will also be joining them for the entire series bringing with him stories from the venue as part of the pre-game show while former San Antonio Spurs small forward and NBA champion Bruce Bowen will be joining the “NBA sa ABS-CBN” crew as a guest panelist.

Many may have doubted one side but in the end, it was inevitable that LeBron James and the Cavaliers will stare at the superstar-laden defending championsled by Stephen Curry in the biggest stage in basketball. James, who is on a tear in his 15th season, is looking forward to another crack at the Hamptons 5 of 2016 MVP Curry, 2014 MVP Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala.
The match-up, which debuts in the Warriors’ home court for Game 1, has drawn comparisons to the blockbuster movie “Avengers: Infinity War,” with the Warriors banding together like what the Earth’s mightiest heroes did to topple a single, most devastating force, which in the NBA’s case is none other than James, a four-time MVP that is heading to his eighth-straight Finals trip.
Both Finals protagonists had to endure grueling Conference Finals series, going the distance with the Boston Celtics and the Houston Rockets, and winning Game 7s away from the comforts of their home arenas.
Golden State ended Houston’s chances in back-to-back games with backbreaking third quarter runs after trailing at halftime, thanks to the timely three pointers from Curry, Thompson, and Durant.
“The King,” on the other handed, seemingly wielded the Infinity Gauntlet against the young Celtics who failed to aim for the head to finish the Cavaliers off despite the Cavs’ supporting cast grasping for consistency all series long.
Whoever wins this season, the NBA fans are already big winners as they get to see the two best teams in basketball – one with arguably the best player of this generation, and the other with an enviable collection of stars- go head to head once again for all the marbles.
Don’t miss the titanic clash that is about to begin in the battle for the Larry O’Brien trophy in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals this Friday (June 1) LIVE on ABS-CBN and S+A starting at 9 am. Also catch Game 2 on Monday (June 4) at 8 am, Game 3 on June 7 at 9 am, and Game 4 on June 9 at 9 am LIVE on both channels.
