People have been talking about Gretchen Fullido filing a sexual harassment case against ABS-CBN news executive Cheryl Favila and segment producer Maricar Asprec. One actor may follow Gretchen’s footsteps.
Sexual harassment is bullying or coercion of a sexual nature and the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors.
Sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment can take several forms. The two most common forms are described as “quid pro quo” sexual harassment and hostile work environment sexual harassment.
Quid pro quo is Latin for “something for something” or “this for that.” This is where an employee is required to tolerate sexual harassment in exchange for employment, a raise or job benefit, or promotion.
Hostile work environment, on the other hand, results in an offensive work environment or unreasonably interferes an employee’s work performance.
Blind item.
According to an Abante Tonite report, an actor wants to file a sexual harassment case against a gay executive of one giant network.
The actor, however, has been advised to come out of the closet first before filing the complaint.
“Pero may nagpapayo umano sa aktor na dapat handa siya sa kontrobesya sa oras na lumantad siya. Dapat daw ay ready rin ito sa magiging epekto ng kanyang career.”
The advice includes preparing for the effect of the controversy to his career. In the said reports, the gay executive has been doing this for a while and has had a lot of victims in the industry.
“Namumuro na ang gay executive na ito. Balitang marami na rin siyang nabiktima.”
Gretchen Fullido update.
As of this writing, Gretchen is still facing the legal battle. Cheryl and Maricar’s legal counsel, Atty. Evalyn Ursua, belittled Gretchen’s journalistic standards which didn’t have anything to do with the sexual harassment case. Cheryl also called Gretchen a liar and doesn’t have any proof of the accusations.
Ogie Diaz, on the other hand, gave his full support towards Gretchen and her battle.
