Started on July 30 on GMA Telebabad, Victor Magtanggol aired its finale episode on Friday, November 16 after running for more than one season.
The series replaced The Cure and pitted against the set top-rating Kapamilya crime-action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Dubbed as the Heroic Finale, Hammerman (played by Alden Richards) gave his all including his life to defeat Loki (John Estrada) and his children (humans turned monsters). In the end, Hammerman saved the world and prevented Loki from turning the earth like what happened to Midgard (fallen Asgard during Ragnarok).
How did it fare in TV ratings race?
Pilot episode (July 30)
According to Kantar Media, Kapamilya crime show FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano earned 42.4% ratings. It ranked as the most-watched show on July 30, Monday. On the other hand, Kapuso fantaserye Victor Magtanggol only garnered 20.0%.
If the results from NUTAM are to be used as a gauge, Kapamilya top show FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano earned 14.7% while the newly debuted fantaserye Victor Magtanggol garnered 12.4%. The margin is more slim than what the Kantar Media data showed.
Finale Episode (November 16)
On Kantar Media’s: FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano registered 37.6% on Friday, November 16, while Victor Magtanggol only hit 17.8%.
While NUTAM, the same in its first episode until its finale, Victor Magtanggol remained the same, lagging behind its rival show FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano that managed to capture 14.8% ratings; and the the Kapuso superhero series only got 11.1%.
