King of Talk Boy Abunda recently released his new book, Nanay’s Gay Boy. In the book, he detailed his ideas, arguments and statements on LGBT+ pride.
Answering a reporter’s question, Abunda noted that people should let young LGBT+ members to come out on their own pace.

Abunda pointed out that if a person wanted to stay in the closet, people should let them be.
“Coming out is a personal decision. Nobody has the right to out anyone. If a person for whatever reason… cultural or family… If a person decides to stay in the closet, that is a right that must be respected.”
Boy detailed his (only) personal opinion.
“I wouldn’t want to say, ‘Lumabas na kayo kasi mas masaya…’ My personal opinion is that has to be respected, that people who are happy in there [the closet], just let them be.”
Boy stressed that he never came out.
Abunda shared that he never really came out of the closet. He, however, would have wanted to have a musical to come out of the closet.
“I didn’t have a coming out story, I’ve always been out… But, we don’t really talk about it. Nanay and I never talked about it. I mean, mothers and their children understand each other. I don’t have a coming out story. I would have wanted a musical…”
