GMA Network’s fantasy drama series Kara Mia will end on June 28. Friday. However, its supposed replacement series, Rosang Agimat, was shelved due to cast member Eddie Garcia’s tragic on-set accident that resulted in his death.
There were speculations that Kara Mia‘s replacement series would be a Koreanovela but GMA Network made a decision to switch the timeslots of its Primetime Telebabad series.
In a Facebook post, soap opera writer Suzette Doctolero on June 26 announced the changes made for the network’s programs.
“Simula po sa July 1 ay Sahaya na ang unang mapapanood sa Primetime ng GMA 7. Papalitan nito ang sched ng Kara Mia. The Better Woman, starring Derek (Ramsay) and Andrea (Torres), ang nasa slot 2. Abangan po mga kapuso!”she wrote.
Starting on July 1, the network’s Telebabad will be having a new line up.
Sahaya will replace Kara Mia‘s spot after the news program 24 Oras and will be the newest rival of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. The upcoming series The Better Woman will follow after Sahaya while the rom-com series Love You Two will remain in its original timeslot.

Since it started airing in 2015, Coco Martin’s series has remained the most-watched program in the country and all the shows that GMA Network had pitted against it had fallen by the wayside.
The Bianca Umali-starrer is the 15th show that will compete head-to-head with the top-rating show.
Prior to this, the action series already defeated fourteen shows from GMA Network such as Once Upon A Kiss, Little Nanay, Poor Senorita, Marimar, Let The Love Begin, Encantadia, Mulawin VS. Ravena, Alyas Robin Hood 1 & 2, Super Ma’am.,Sherlock Jr., The Cure, Cain at Abel and the recent Kara Mia.

Meanwhile, Derek Ramsay and Andrea Torres’s upcoming series The Better Woman will be the new competitor of The General’s Daughter. The show will be the first big project of Derek after signing an exclusive contract with GMA Network and his first time to be paired with versatile actress Andrea. It will be directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz.
