Despite what happened to their love affair, Joshua Garcia didn’t turn his back on his ex-girlfriend turned best friend Julia Barretto amid the controversy she’s currently embroiled in.

In her Instagram, Julia posted a screenshot of Joshua’s message for her with the caption, “This guy knows how to find humor in everything.”

His message read, “Malalampasan mo ‘yan. I know you, you’re the strongest girl na nakilala ko. Takot nga ako sa iyo eh.”

The online world has been abuzz with the controversial breakup of Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson. Julia has been dragged into the issue due to speculations that she is the reason behind Bea and Gerald’s breakup.

Bea posted a cryptic message on her Instagram seemingly confirming the infidelity of her former lover. Many celebrities showed their support for the actress by sending her flowers and motivational messages. Even Joshua liked her post but kept mum about the issue.

But Julia never lost a friend in Joshua who still supports her despite him getting his heart broken.

In his past interview, the young actor revealed that despite the turnaround in their relationship, Julia still holds a special place in his heart.

He said, “Special pa rin siya, sobra. Mahal ko pa rin ‘yung taong ‘yun. Tagal namin nagsama at nagkatrabaho, eh. At least, hindi nawala ‘yung friendship namin. ‘Yun na lang pinagpapasalamat ko. Sa ngayon muna, best friends muna po kami. Kumbaga, mag-stick muna kami doon kasi doon po kami mas magaan sa isa’t isa.”

During the press conference of his upcoming teleserye, The Killer Bride, the Kapamilya star was asked about his message for Julia.

“Kaibigan ko siya eh, hindi naman siguro masama na ibigay ko ‘yung suporta ko sa kaniya, kumbaga kalimutan muna natin ‘yung problema, andito ako bilang kaibigan mo hindi para kung ano man,” he stated.
