Claudine Margaret Castelo Barretto, or just Claudine Barretto, has been winning fans from the time she started in 1992 up to the present.
Following her acclaimed performances in drama series like Mula sa Puso (1997–1999), Saan Ka Man Naroroon (1999–2001), Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan (2001–2003), Marina (2004), and Iisa Pa Lamang (2006) and box-office hits and award-winning films like Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita (1998), Anak (2000), Got 2 Believe (2002), Kailangan Kita (2002), Milan (2004), Nasaan Ka Man (2005), Sukob (2006), and Etiquette for Mistresses (2015). She has been called The Optimum Star.
A month after the box-office success of Got 2 Believe in 2002, Claudine lost her on-screen and real-life partner of four years, Rico Yan.
In March 2006, she got married to Raymart Santiago, but their relationship did not work out and decided to separate in 2013. They have two children, Sabina (whom they adopted) and Santino Santiago. Two years after their separation, she adopted a child whom she named Quia Barretto.

Recently, The Optimum Star was dubbed as Angelina Jolie of the Philippines following her viral post on Instagram.
Angelina Jolie, the American actress and filmmaker, is known for her humanitarian heart. She has six children, three of whom were adopted internationally while the other three are her biological offspring.
Claudine posted a photo of herself carrying a baby with a caption, “taking care of an infant can be so tiring.”

In the same post, Claudine thanked her massage therapist for helping her take good care of the infant.
“At this hour naka rest na ko sa pag aalaga,” she said.
Netizens concluded that the actress has again adopted another infant, while Claudine has yet to confirm this. Netizens applauded Claudine for her good deeds and big heart for children.
Meanwhile, The Optimum Star is set for her comeback project on big screen with Piolo Pascual. In her interview with Boy Abunda last April of this year, she confirmed the reunion project which will shot in Florence, Italy some time in June or July. She did not give further details.
