‘Encounter’ continues to be the #1 Koreanovela in the country

  • Encounter dominates in the ratings game
  • The newest Kapamilya K-drama series maintains its wide lead and continues to be the most-watched Koreanovela in the country
  • The data is provided by National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM)

From its initial release, Encounter immediately captured the hearts of many viewers. The Filipino dubbed Koreanovela is now one of the most-watched drama series in the Primetime Bida line up of ABS-CBN. It is even one of the talked about topics on Twitter.

With South Korean superstars Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum’s team-up, the latest K-drama offering of ABS-CBN is the number 1 Koreanovela in the country.

Encounter is pitted against another K-drama on GMA Network, Ruler of the Mask starring Yoo Seung-ho, Kim So-hyun, Kim Myung-Soo, Yoon So-Hee, Heo Joon-Ho, and Park Chul-Min.

However, based on the viewership rating recorded by NUTAM for the week of August 12-16, the blossoming love story between the CEO and her employee continues to attract many televiewers.

Encounter‘s highlights last week focused on the growing romance between CEO Pauline Cha and her employee Marco Kim despite the watchful eyes of the people around them, especially Cha’s mother-in-law.

In the Ruler of the Mask on the other hand, Ga Eun finally learned that Crown Prince Lee Sun was the one who killed her father. Because of this, she hated the prince more and planned to seek revenge.

For the whole week, Encounter maintained its wide lead against its rival. Even on Friday, the K-drama series outscored GMA’s long-running gag show, Bubble Gang.
