Many netizens are still in disbelief with the results of It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan Ultimate Resbak.
Furious netizens took to social media platforms Twitter and Facebook to share their sentiments regarding the results of Mariane Osabel and Mariko Ledesma’s head-to-head showdown.
The netizens who were mostly supporters of Marianne slammed the show and its hurados for their alleged biased and unfair judging.

Unfair score
On Tuesday, September 11, Mariane Osabel of Mindanao and Mariko Ledesma went on a head-to head battle in Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s Ultimate Resbak. Marianne was the owner of the seat of power that time while Mariko was the challenger.
After their performance, the hurados chose Mariko as the winner making her the new owner of the seat of power leaving Mariane out of the competition.
Mariko got a total average score of 83.74%, 33.74% of which came from public votes and 50% from hurados’ votes, while Mariane got a total score of 66.5%, 50% from public votes and 16.5% from the hurados.
Furious Netizens
That decision didn’t sit well with the netizens, making the hashtags ‘#JusticeforMariane’ and ‘#TNTUltimateResbak’ trending topics on Twitter Philippines.
Most of the netizens slammed the show and the judges saying the result is very incredible and unbelievable. Many of them bashed the hurados for being ‘biased,’ saying the singing competition is now relegated to a cooking show.

All of the judges’ decisions are so fucking disappointing today. From Mr. Q&A to Tawag ng Tanghalan. Congrats to Mariko but 16.50% for Mariane’s performance? Insane. #TNTULtimateResbak

This is no longer a question of why Mariko won over Mariane. Question now is, “Did the hurados HONESTLY think that Mariane deserves an all-time low score of 16.5% given that “close fight” tag yesterday? Like seriously? Paki-explain.#TNTUltimateResbakan #JusticeForMariane

K Brosas response
Meanwhile, one of the hurados also took to Twitter to defend the outcome of the show.
Hurado K Brosas shared her views via several tweets saying while she believe with Mariane’s caliber as a singer, Mariko was more deserving that day.

She also added that whatever the outcome people will have something to say and that winning is not a sure guarantee to stardom.

This was also what she has to say to the netizen who cursed not only her but other hurados as well.

Lastly, she said that the decision of the hurados are collegial. There were 5 of them who decided, and no matter what netizens say they should just respect the result, the same way that she respect all of their opinions.

Aware of the disappointment happened during the show, TNT host Vice Ganda informed the netizens that the Hurados will release an official statement after their meeting.
(1) Ok for the TnT fans tweeting me. I talked to the staff and told them that the viewers’ sentiments have to be acknowledged. So i asked if we can hear a word from Sir Louie since sya lng ang judge kahapon na present kanina.

(2) I was told na the Hurados will talk and will come up with a statement after. They’re aware na madaming disappointed. I myself was shocked. And i would love to hear and respect what they would have to say. So lets just wait. Love u guys!

On Friday, acting as the head judge Ogie Alcasid said he hopes that viewers understand that they do not manipulate the results in any way.
Said in jest while wearing white lab coat and stethoscope, Alcasid said:
“Ang gusto ko lang sabihin, hindi namin dinodoktor dito ang resulta kahit doctor ako (wearing white gown and stethoscope).”
