Comedienne Ethel Booba said she was sure to get her talent fee this time for Tawag ng Tanghalan, a segment of It’s Showtime. Ethel was chosen as one of the celebrity contestants for the special edition of the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ segment in celebration of the 10th year of the said noontime show.
In a recent interview with LionhearTV, Ethel was asked about her reaction upon learning that she was going to be one of the celebrity challengers.
“Siyempre tinanong ko agad ang premyo, TF ganyan. Sabi ko eto magkaliwanagan tayo ha?charot!” she laughingly said.
“Ang TF tsaka premyo hiwalay. ‘Tatawagan ka namin ulit.’ Hahaha!” Ethel narrated in jest.
She then confirmed that she will immediately receive her talent fee after her stint on It’s Showtime.
“Oo yun ang usapan. Doon mismo sa stage malaking-malaking tseke.”
In a tweet on Sunday, September 22, the comedienne expressed how she gets discouraged from guesting on TV shows again because of her experience with unpaid talent fees.
Dropping the names of the shows, she said Minute to Win It hasn’t paid her yet for almost a year now and Gandang Gabi Vice for more than five months. She even joked that she’ll just appear on Skype.

“Kaya nakakatamad na mag guest sa TV show kasi merong iba dyan mag almost 1 year na di pa ma-claim ang TF sunod meron ding more than 5 months na ata. Sa skype na lang talaga ako magshow C2C. Astig sa astig lang. Charot!” she tweeted.
Ethel then clarified that she is not pertaining to the whole network but just particular shows. She even said that the talent fee issue also happened at another network and not just ABS-CBN.
She also said that her personal assistant was at fault for her delayed talent fees.
“Tumatambak na yung pink slip. Kasalanan ng PA ko, tatanga-tanga,” Ethel explained.
“Yung mga nabulok pa, yun ang hindi niya na-push.”
Ethel then said that she already got her unpaid talent fees just last week.
Meanwhile, Ethel then shared her preparations for the upcoming singing contest which includes sleeping for eight hours.
“Wala. Ang pinakapaghahanda lang talaga nito ay matulog ng eight hours,” she quipped.
“Gabi gabi pa rin naman ako kumakanta eh. Pero minsan kasi pag pagod ka ikakanta mo na lang siya. Hindi na parang pag contest talaga kailangan malinis na malinis bawat letra,” Ethel shared.
