Actress Cristine Reyes surprised fans and fellow celebrities after officially announcing her engagement to boyfriend Gio Tingson.
The actress shared the happy news through her Instagram account, where she posted a series of photos from their vacation in Hong Kong. In one of the photos, Cristine proudly showed off her engagement ring, seemingly confirming that the proposal took place during their trip.
“Every timeline led here. endgame unlocked,” Cristine captioned her post.
Netizens and celebrities immediately flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, including Anne Curtis, Alessandra de Rossi, Carla Abellana, Charlene Gonzalez, Alex Gonzaga, Dominic Roque, and Jessy Mendiola, among others.
Photos shared by the couple featured sweet moments together, including shots of them holding hands and enjoying scenic views abroad. Some netizens even commented that the images looked like a pre-nuptial shoot.
The couple first sparked dating rumors last year. In a previous conversation with entertainment editor Jun Lalin, Cristine admitted that Gio was her childhood sweetheart and that they had already known each other for a long time.
For those unfamiliar, Gio previously served as chairperson of the National Youth Commission from 2014 to 2016. He also worked as Chief Political Officer for Bam Aquino from 2016 to 2018 and later became chairperson of Akbayan Citizens’ Action Party from 2018 to 2022.
Cristine was previously married to professional MMA fighter Ali Khatibi in 2016. They have one daughter, Amarah, who remains under the actress’ care.
In February 2024, Cristine confirmed during Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that she had already been annulled from Ali for more than a year.
