- JM de Guzman revealed that Pamilya Ko was almost canceled
- This was brought up after the actor was accused of frustrated murder
- He is set to top-bill the film Lucid with Alessandra de Rossi
JM de Guzman revealed that his current series Pamilya Ko was almost canceled.
In a presscon for the 15th year of Cinema One Originals, the Kapamilya actor explained that his pending frustrated murder case filed by Pitt Norman prompted the ABS-CBN management to put the series on hold. The actor said that he was later able to prove his innocence to the management with his evidence.
JM narrated, “Naapektuhan po, ‘yung show ko, muntik nang i-shelve because I have to maintain a good image na tapos biglang may ganu’n. So nalaman nga ng management so, I proved to them na, hayun ipinakita ko lahat (pruweba).”
The actor strongly believes that he will soon win the case and clear his name. “May naka-set na po na hearing at doon na lang namin aayusin. Nagkaroon na kami ng appearances at first hearing ito.
“Confident po ‘yung team namin na maaayos po ito legally and alam naming nasa tama kami.”
Pamilya Ko is a top rating afternoon series which also includes Joey Marquez, Irma Adlawan, and Sylvia Sanchez produced under the RSB Unit. It premiered last September 9, Monday replacing Minute to Win It: Last Tandem Standing. It was originally titled as Project Kapalaran.
Meanwhile, JM also shared how he felt after being slapped several times by his mother Luz (Sylvia) in Pamilya Ko.
“Lumagpas (kumawala) na nga ‘yung kaluluwa ko (sabay muwestrang lumipad),” he said smilingly.
“Dito (kanang bahagi ng panga) ako nagpapasampal para kaya kasi kung dito (pisngi), masakit talaga,” he revealed.
The actor said the cast is always prepared to do slapping scenes.
“Kasi alam naman namin na makakatikim kami so, pine-prepare na namin. Alam din ng mga bata ‘yun, ‘yung mga babae (anak sa serye). Kasi kung tumama ang buto mo sa palad, nakaka-lock jaw ‘yun,” paliwanag ng aktor.
JM then expressed his happiness for the success of Pamilya Ko which remains a consistent winner in its timeslot against its competitor.
“Thank you Lord! Magaling po kasi ‘yung buong team saka ‘yung materyal para sa pamilya talaga,” JM exclaimed.
Apart from this, JM is also prepping for his movie with actress Alessandra de Rossi titled Lucid.
JM described the film as, “It’s a lucid dreaming, you can control your dreams at puwede kang gumalaw sa panaginip mo at nag-meet nga kami sa dreams, ‘yung karakter ni Alex na isang empleyado, kapag nananaginip, doon siya nag-eenjoy at doon ako pumapasok.”
Lucid, a paranormal romance film directed by Victor Villanueva, is part of the Cinema One Originals Film Festival .Cinema One Originals will start on November 7 and run until November 17 with its opening film Lighthouse.
The other films included in the film fest are Metamorphosis, O, Sila Sila, Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Tayo, Tia Madre, Utopia, and Yours Truly, Shirley.
