In an interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda to promote The Mall, The Merrier, Tony Labrusca expressed his support for Julia Barretto, his co-star in the iWant project I AM U. He said he understands what does the actress is going through and how she is able to cope with everything that is being thrown at her.
Tony said, “I really believe na kung para sayo, para sayo talaga. Not a single thing, not a person, no energy on this earth can take away what’s meant to be yours. No matter what controversy happens to you if you know in your heart no ill intentions whatever God’s plan for you all the good things will still go to you.”
He shared that he took the time to respectfully ask Julia on how was she coping with everything only to be inspired by her stories.The Mall The Merrier actor also praised Julia for the love she has for her family.
He continued, “I feel for Julia, I think people forget that me and her are just people just like everybody else. Meron rin kaming feelings, minsan umiiyak din minsan masaya. We’re just normal human beings. Nung nakita ko po siya, I kind of took time and I wanted to be in the most respectful way, tinatanong ko siya, how is she, how she coping with everything. She always goes back to God and I can honestly say I am so inspired by her stories about her family. Na-inspire talaga ako sa love niya para sa pamilya niya.”
As host Boy Abunda teased him if there is a chance for him to fall in love with Julia, Tony replied, “One day, when she gets married, the man she marries will be very a lucky man.”
It can be recalled that both of them had faced controversies this year. Tony made a scene when he shouted and cursed at an Immigration Officer at NAIA Terminal, he was also accused of having a secret relationship with Alex Diaz.
