A Soldier’s Heart lead star Gerald Anderson finally spoke up about the ‘competition’ between his upcoming TV series and Dingdong Dantes’ Descendants of the Sun with Jennylyn Mercado.
According to Gerald, he doesn’t feel any pressure at all and it just makes him more excited and exerts all his effort into the series.
“It’s nice, pero kilala niyo ako, I’m a very competitive person. It just makes it even better, mas napapaganda ‘yung proyekto namin because siyempre maging competitive tayo sa kabila.”
In addition to that, Gerald emphasized that he’s not in a competition with Dingdong’s DOTS, A Soldier’s Heart aims to deliver the message about how Philippine soldiers fight for the country and all the struggles they have to go through, even if it means there is no assurance that they can go back to their families.
“Ang gusto lang natin, iparating ‘yung mensahe, ‘yung gusto natin ipakita, ung bayan natin, kahit naman nakita ninyo nangyari sa Taal, dumating ‘yung mga sundalo para mamigay ng goods, ‘yan ang pinaka importante.”
Dingdong Dantes’s Descendants of the Sun is a Philippine adaptation of Korea’s hit 2016 series. It also stars Jennylyn Mercado, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Rocco Nacino, Paul Salas, and Chariz Solomon.
