Kapuso singer Mark Bautista revealed that he was able to experience “showmance” last 2017 while he was doing the musical Here Lies Love in Seattle with an unnamed co-actor.
According to Mark, this was the first time he experienced such a situation which he did not even know of prior to meeting this co-actor.
“Hindi nag-work, hindi tama. Walang okay tayo or tayo something ang nangyari parang showmance, ‘yun pala ‘yon. May ganoon pala na matagal kayong magkasama sa show, nade-develop kayo or naging kayo, and then after ng show, puwede palang mawala. Showmance pala ang tawag doon.”
As of the moment, Mark has chosen to stay single to prevent himself from getting hurt. He’s not in the rush to get into a relationship again, but he’s currently going out and meeting other people if time permits him to do so.
“Wala pa akong dine-date. May mga nagpaparamdam, siyempre ayoko naman sabihin na choosy ako pero, ayoko rin naman masyadong sugod lang ng sugod. I go out, I meet other people also, pero wala pa akong nakikitang, ‘okay this is it.’”
In relation to the breakup song ‘Halik Sa Hangin’ in which he wrote, Mark stated some facts that inspired him to finish writing the song.

“May time minsan sinasabi ng partner ng I love you, minsan pala wala ng feelings ‘yon. Minsan sa relationship ang sweet sweet sa ‘yo, feeling mo mahal na mahal ka, actually hindi na pala? And yet, na-realize mo ikaw na lang pala nagbibigay. So mas maganda ‘yung minsan wag mo ng sabihin mahal mo ako kung hindi mo naman mean, kasi nahihirapan lang ako.”
When he published his first book Beyond the Mark last February 2018, it was an opportunity for him to come out as bisexual and conquer his fears. His revelation led him to receive more positive feedbacks compared to negative ones, and he firmly believes that you cannot please everyone, especially those who would accept his gender.
“So far okay naman ‘yung pagtangap ng mga tao. Siyempre hindi ko naman ma-please lahat, maraming iba’t ibang reaksyon, but now nalagpasan ko na siya. Wala na nagsasabi ng negative sa akin, ‘yung first lang na lumabas but after ‘nun, baka nabasa na nila na malinis naman ‘yung intensyon ko for the book.”
