Chienna Filomeno confirmed that she is no longer a member of It’s Showtime female group GirlTrends. She also revealed that her reason for leaving GT is not because of issues but that she has decided to focus on her acting career.
As for Chienna, to be part of GirlTrends, requires you to improve your hosting skills, and for now, she doesn’t see herself improving in that aspect and considers it as her weak point as of the moment.
Chienna confirmed: “I’m no longer a GT po, I opt out na rin po, para mag focus sa acting naman po which is kung saan po ako nagstart. Kasi po hosting po kasi ‘yon and weak point ko po siguro. As for me, as of now, gusto ko po kasi once na isinalang niyo ‘ko, kailangan po matutunan ko. Ayoko po isalang ako ng puchu-puchu lang, na ‘yan okay na ‘yan. Ayoko ko po ‘yung okay lang, gusto ko po talaga ‘yun yung strength.”

About two or three months ago, It’s Showtime management advised the members of GirlTrends to take a break for the meantime.
She continued: “Two, three months ago, sinabihan po kami ng management na rest daw muna ang GT, which is sa amin ibang GT na may ibang ganap, ibang path happy kami kasi feel namin parang nagiging mediocre sa ginagawa namin. Natigil ako sa acting dahil nag GT ako, and I’m super thankful kasi po everyday din po ‘yun. I get to do what I love also which is dancing.”
Chienna and the controversies
2019 seemed to be not the best year for Chienna, with issues coming her way. Netizens blamed her for the GirlTrends’ viral unsynchronized video. She apologized for it and said it was definitely one of her bad days.

In an interview with Tonight with Boy Abunda last April 2019, she narrated that conflicts arose between her and co-members of GirlTrends Dawn Chang and Erin Ocampo for talking behind her back.
The promising star was also accused by bashers who body-shamed her for having a boob and nose job which she just laughed off.
