- She suggested that Dela Rosa should resign as a senator and apply as a bodyguard of the president instead
- Malacañang reacted to Balba’s criticisms
According to Balba, Dela Rosa should resign from his post and apply as a bodyguard of President Rodrigo Durerte instead.
This was after Dela Rosa after said that he “will live and die” and “will sink and swim with President Duterte” in support of his decisions on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal issue. He also commented that he doesn’t mind closing the broadcast giant ABS-CBN and leaving thousands of employees jobless if it stopped the network from “abusing” Filipinos.

Taray! IBA. #itopoangbinotoniyo,” Balba said in a separate tweet.

Balba also called Dela Rosa as a “puppet” of the president for being a submissive government official, though the senator stated earlier stated that he is not blindly following Duterte.

Balba slammed the senator for being disloyal public servant to the Filipinos.
She wrote, “When you’re a public servant and your loyalty is towards a person and not towards the country, ang tawag dyan, TUTA.”

In response to this criticism, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador “Sal” Panelo fired back at Balba with a short reply, “Baka naman siya ang gustong mag-apply, hayaan mo na lang siya.”
The House has yet to take action on ABS-CBN’s pending franchise renewal before it expires this March.
