Solicitor General Jose Calida confronted ABS-CBN reporter Mike Navallo after filling his quo warranto case against the Kapamilya network at the Supreme Court.
An obviously agitated Calida accused the ABS-CBN reporter of constant hitting him through his news reports.
“Palagi mo akong binabanatan ah, abogado ka rin pala eh,” Calida told Navallo.
Navallo politely said in response that he’s just doing his job as a journalist.
“No, sir. I’m just doing my job, it’s a story,” said Navallo
But Calida didn’t stop and challenged the reporter to see him in court.
“Mag-practice ka na lang, magkita tayo sa court,” said Calida.
Mike Navallo graduated Magna Cum Laude from the UP College of Mass Communication in 2005. He was also the batch valedictorian of their journalism class. After graduating from Journalism degree, Navallo pursued law and graduated in 2009.
Navallo started his career in ABS-CBN in 2015 covering the justice beat
Meanwhile, netizens criticized Calida’s boorishness towards the ABS-CBN reporter.

Calida is so intimated because of two things: 1) Because Mike knows the law as a lawyer; and 2) he needs to speak truth to power as a journalist.
