Mara Clara cast members Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, and Dimples Romana have managed to maintain their friendship after working together on the remake in 2010.
In the series, Kathryn portrayed the role of Mara; Julia, Clara; and Dimples, Alvira who is Clara’s mother and Mara’s real mother. The series premiered in August 2010 and continued to air until June 2011.
In an interview with Boy Abunda on Tonight with Boy Abunda in 2017, Romana shared that despite their busy schedules, they still manage to make their friendship even stronger.
“[Sa amin] nila Julia at ni Kathryn…si Kathryn ang mas madalas naming hindi makita. Si Kath kasi busy siya sa ‘La Luna Sangre’ pero ‘pag si Kath ang nagyaya, ready kaming lahat,” Dimples said
“Last time na nagkitakita kaming lahat, it was Kath’s prerogative to invite everybody. And we had lunch, we started at 2 pm, we ended at 6 pm,” she added.
Julia wrote Dimples a touching birthday message which made her emotional during her Magandang Buhay guesting.
“My Ate Dimps, happy, happy birthday. I miss you, Ate! First, siyempre super happy ako that lahat ng dreams mo sa family and ‘yung building nangyayari na. Kasi lagi akong naniniwala na pinagpala ang taong may mabuting hangarin. Keep inspiring us, especially thank you for inspiring me. I’m just here always as your Bebe Juls. I love you.”
