Kapuso personalities and the team behind GMA Pinoy TV, the Network’s flagship international channel, sang their hearts out in a tribute to the thousands of Filipinos working in various healthcare facilities and other essential services abroad.
Their rendition of the “Buong Puso Para sa Kapuso” music video, uploaded Easter Sunday on the GMA Pinoy TV Facebook page, featured a compilation of videos taken from their homes which showed how they can still be united despite being away from each other.
Joining the GMA Pinoy TV family in the special tribute were Aicelle Santos, Alden Richards, Betong Sumaya, Christian Bautista, Golden Cañedo, Love Añover, Julie Ann San Jose, Mariz Umali, and Raffy Tima.
At the beginning of the video, GMA First Vice President for International Operations Joseph T. Francia expressed his warm greetings and assured the Kapuso abroad that GMA Pinoy TV is one with them in this challenging time.
“Isa na naman pong matinding pagsubok ang hinaharap natin ngayon. At sa muli, kami rito sa GMA Pinoy TV ay kasama n’yo sa pagharap sa pagsubok na ito. Sa tulong po ng ating Maykapal, nawa’y mapagtagumpayan natin ang paghamong ito,” he said.
They also encouraged everyone to lend a hand in helping fellow Filipinos who have lost their means of livelihood during the quarantine. Online monetary donations may be sent to GMA Kapuso Foundation via www.gmanetwork.com/kapusofoundation/donate.
The Kapuso abroad likewise expressed their appreciation to the heartwarming GMA Pinoy TV video.
On Facebook, Nerie Solomon commented how she was touched by their message. “Thank you so much for all your hard work and support during this difficult time. Your humility, kindness, and strength are greatly appreciated. Thank you for being our nation’s guiding light in this adversary.”
Instagram user i.m.ruel.paterno wrote, “Truly inspirational. Kudos to GMA Network and GMA Pinoy TV and proud of all the frontliners.”
Medical frontliners, on the other hand, also shared how much they appreciated the online gesture.
Dr. Nanette Lizardo-Lajo, a paediatrician, commented “this is beautiful! God bless you and GMA!”
“What a beautiful tribute, nakakaproud naman. Thank you GMA Pinoy TV [and] Sir Joseph Francia for this initiative,” said Arizona-based nurse Rhia Luz, who also hosts a radio program called ‘Buhay-Buhay sa Amerika.’
