Actress Hillary Tan dreams of being a female action star.
In an exclusive interview with LionhearTV, Hillary revealed that her dream project would be playing a “bida” in an action film or a TV series.
“I know it will be very challenging and it will require a lot of training, but that is my dream role,” the 21-year-old actress said.
Hillary’s acting career started in 2011, when she was discovered in a Star Magic acting workshop by her manager Kristian Kabigting.
Since then, she has appeared in various TV shows and movies.
“Back in high school, I found myself that I’m really into arts like acting, dancing, and music,” Hillary shared.
“So when I see Filipino and Hollywood actors doing movies and TV series, I want to be like them. They inspired me in terms of how they express themselves through acting,” she added.
According to Hillary, playing her character “Jam” in the drama series “Be Careful With My Heart” was the hardest role she had ever played so far.
“Because Jam’s personality is so much different from my personality. She’s boyish and she likes boyish activities such as basketball,” the actress said.
“That is totally different from me because I’m more of a girly type. So I really had to adjust and change myself for the character whenever I’m doing the role,” she added.
To get into a character, the actress said she studies her role first.
“I study the character’s attitude and life experiences. I tried to forget the real me and be the character that I’m going to portray,” she said.
“Then I analyze, internalize and memorize the lines,” she added.
When asked about her favorite actor, Hillary said she idolized multi-awarded actress Bea Alonzo.
“Because she’s (Bea) really good in acting. Whatever role you give to her, she can pull it off and she’s also down to earth,” she explained.
“So, my most memorable experience in a taping was when I got to bond with Bea and other big stars like Derek Ramsay, Paulo Avelino, and Vin Abrenica in a movie. They were very kind. I remember when I was little, I just watched them on TV,” she added.
Hillary said she is now busy preparing for her upcoming series “Boys Next Door” to be shown on TV5 and an online digital vlog show, “The Eat Girls” on Asterisk Digital TV YouTube channel.
“I also have two commercials coming out,” she added.
