Veteran entertainment journalist Lolit Solis recently compared actress Janice de Belen to South Korea’s phenomenal star Song Hye Kyo.
In an Instagram post dated June 11, the 73-year-old columnist, talked about re-watching the 2016 hit Korean drama series “Descendants of the Sun” starring the former couple Song Joong-Ki ang Song Hye Kyo.
In 2017, the two lead stars tied the knot only to be separated later in 2019 due to “personal differences.” But despite the bitter ending of her marriage, Song Hye Kyo is really envied because aside from Song Joong-Ki, she had been in romantic relationships with Korean hunky actors Hyun Bin and Lee Byung-hun with whom she co-starred in different dramas.
She wrote, “Iyon wild imagination ko Salve umandar na naman ng panuorin ko uli ang Descendants of the Sun ha. Hindi ba iyon naging dyowa ni Song Joong-Ki na si Song Hye Kyo naging ex din si Hyun Bin? Bongga siya ha, Oppable mga dyowa niya.
“Siguro nga may mga girls na suwerte at lahat ng ma link sa kanila na boys iyon mga hottie, at meron naman mga girls na hindi masyado ligawin kaya iyon mga boys nila so so lang,” she added which prompted her to talk about Janice de Belen’s ex-boyfriends in showbiz.
If Song had ‘Oppas’ who became a part of her life, De Belen’s former lovers were country’s sought-after leading men and heartthrobs such as Gabby Concepcion, Aga Muhlach, and John Estrada.
Just like the Song-Song couple, De Belen ended up with Estrada whom she had four children (Inah, Moira, Kaila, and Yuan) with but unfortunately, their years-long marriage resulted in a separation. Their marriage was annulled in 2004 and the 46-year-old actor is now happily married to Brazilian and Miss Earth 2004 titleholder Priscilla Meirelles with whom he has a daughter.

Aside from their failed marriage, Song and De Belen are both successful actresses.
Song gained international popularity through her leading roles in television dramas like Autumn in My Heart (2000), All In (2003), Full House (2004), That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013), Descendants of the Sun (2016), and Encounter (2018) making her as a top Hallyu (Korean Wave) star.
Meanwhile, De Belen as an actress has starred in films and TV programs such as Flor De Liza, Puppy Love, The Healing, Pridyider, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles, The Strangers, Shake, Rattle & Roll 14, Call Center Girl, Haunted Mansion, Endless Love, Magic Palayok, Budoy, Ina Kapatid Anak, The General’s Daughter, Sino Ang May Sala: Mea Culpa to name a few which earned her several awards and recognitions.
