IV of Spades or IVOS band members Blaster Silonga and Zild Benitez hit the government after President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Anti-Terrorism bill into law on Friday, July 3.

This happened amid Filipinos’ concern over increasing COVID-19 cases in the country and ABS-CBN’s shutdown.

The bill was opposed by several groups and individuals as it is seen as a threat to Filipinos’ basic human rights.

Silonga has been continuously criticizing the government and the president on his social media account.

The musician said in his post, “Bring the government down. They don’t speak for us.”

He also asked, “Dear Rodrigo Duterte, May pakialam ka ba talaga sa amin?”

“Ang mamatay para sa kapalpakan ng gobyerno ay parang manok namatay para sa matabang na Tinola,” he said in another post.

He also showed his support for the junking of Anti-Terror Bill earlier in June.

Meanwhile, Benitez said, “hindi pa tayo tapos. magpakatatag”

In another tweet, he said that it’s not bad to feel anger now.

“Hindi rin masama kung galit ang nararamdaman mo ngayon.Magalit ka. Magagamit rin natin ‘to”

Silonga is the lead guitarist of the IVOS band while Benitez the lead vocalist. IVOS is composed of three members including Badjao de Castro.
