When asked what makes XOXO’s bonding different from other girl groups, each of the members discussed how they adjust to each other’s moods.
Lyra said that since they have been together for quite some time, they were able to familiarize themselves with each other’s moods.
“Sa tagal tagal namin po na nagsasama like since the Clash. Syempre yung the Clash pa lang friends na kami. After ng the Clash nung nabuo na kami. Mas lumalim pa yung pagsasamahan at paguunawa namin sa isa’t isa. Dahil siguro magkakasama kami lagi. Siguro gamay na namin yung mga personalities,” said Lyra.
She also added that it is normal for any one of them to be moody and that its a matter of patience.
“Syempre di naman maiiwasan na yung isa moody, so naiintindihan na namin kung kailan sya nagiging moody or ganito. Kanya kanyang adjust na lang din. Kasi syempre kami din naman yung magkakasama sa future, so kailangan matataas na patience sa isa’t isa,” Lyra added.
Riel noted that its a matter of compromise and humility.
“Kasi di naman po maiiwasan po na may araw na di maganda ang gising mo. May mga opinyon na nag-cclash syempre apat kami mahirap po talaga mag adjust. Pero ang ginagawa po namin nagcocompromise po kami. So kung mainit ang ulo ni isa, nagpapakumbaba ang isa,” said Riel.
She also noted that their relationship as a group can be compared to siblings.
“Parang makakapatid na po ang turing namin sa isa’t isa po talaga eversince sa the Clash pa po. So ayun po para maiwasan na din po ang conflict, alam na po namin kung paano ihandle yung isa’t isa,” Riel added.
Mel added that they make each other laugh to improve the group’s mood.
“So yun nga po may isa po na bad mood, may isa po na magpapatawa pong isa sa amin para yung bad mood na isa na yun magiging kasama na rin po namin na napapatawa sya,” said Mel.
Dani noted that they balance each other’s personalities out. She also highlights that they make each other laugh when they are together.
“Balanced po lahat nang personality namin, yung nga po pag may bad mood nag aadjust na lang po yung iba. We compliment each other tlaga. Pag kami po magkakasama sobrang ingay namin, tawanan na lang po palagi,” said Dani.
XOXO has celebrated its anniversary recently. Compared to other girl groups who have disbanded like GLAM, and other K-Pop Girl groups, Dani, Riel, Mel, and Lyra have a good sister-like relationship that transcends common issues experienced by girl groups.
