Willie Revillame, one of the Philippines’ most popular entertainment personalities, learned the sad truth about his viewers.
Revillame revealed that he found out that money and prizes are more important for the viewers than entertainment.
In a new segment on Revillame’sshow, PHP30,000 will be given to the lucky viewers who log on to the social media sites of the show. Willie selects a random viewer to be awarded the instant cash prize.
He then observed that people don’t want him singing and entertaining them like he always does.
“Ang gusto ng tao yung meron kang ibibigay sa kanila… Kapag kumakanta ako, ‘Tama na ‘yan Willie, tumawag ka na.”
It may be painful for the host, but he believes that people may just be like this because of the pandemic.
“Napansin ko, ayaw na ng tao ng entertainment. Ang gusto ng tao yung meron kang ibibigay sa kanila. Ang gusto ng tao, sa pangangailangan ngayon, ayaw nila ng mga kanta-kantahan.”

A house-and-lot is said to be the prize if the Facebook page of his widely watched program reaches twenty million followers.
