Derek Ramsay finally broke his silence after being linked to his past on-screen partners and friends following his breakup with actress Andrea Torres.
The actor responded to netizens who claimed that he has already moved on from his recent breakup.
On Sunday, December 13, Derek agreed to be interviewed by his friend Morly Alinio for his DZRH program. Although the actor didn’t mention his break-up with Andrea, he talked about his moving on process from the actress.
According to an article by PEP, Derek opened up about being linked with some of the actresses he worked with along with the women he was simply seen together with. He revealed that the rumors were not true and came as a surprise to him.
“May nagpa-picture sa akin, yung girl na… she’s a fitness enthusiast, super sexy, oo. Humingi siya ng picture, umoo ako. Ngayon, girlfriend ko na daw,” he said.
The actor might be referring to fitness model Aya Tubillo with whom he was recently spotted.
Derek then continued, “Parang nakakainsulto din kasi, di ba?”
“Ako, very proud ako sa pamilya ko, ‘tapos ginaganun-ganun nila. It reflects who my family is… kung paano nila ako pinalaki.”
He mentioned that being the center of rumors comes with being a celebrity. However, he admitted that he still becomes affected by the harsh words that people throw at him.
“For them to talk about me like that… alam mo… ano, artista tayo, it comes with the territory,” he said.
“Pero alam mo, tao rin kami. Masakit na kung anu-ano na lang ang pwedeng sabihin,” he added.
In the same interview, Derek introduced his niece who is the daughter of his sister and said that people might link him to her as well. Meanwhile, the actor is also being linked to Concert Queen Pops Fernandez but their camp denied this allegation.
However, Derek said that he is still in the moving on stage from Andrea. He said that the process is hard for him because his relationship with the actress is different from all the past relationships that he had.
“Mahirap to move on especially kapag sobrang ang laki ng in-invest mo… alam naman natin lahat iyan,” he said.
“Sobrang vocal ako sa nararamdaman ko. Pero things didn’t work out and it’s sad.”
“It doesn’t mean na I will go just like that. Hindi ganun, e.
“My friends, my family, they keep me strong and they keep me positive.
“So ako, tsini-cherish ko na lang yung good times na nangyari, and we have to move on.
“It’s taking a lot of time for me because, you know, that relationship was very different from all the others.
“Pero you know… you have to move on,” said Derek.
Recently, Derek posted on his Instagram account a photo of his “awesome getaway” with his male friend Gali Gonzaga. The photo showed the two together on a beach and another round of rumors circulated the internet saying that Gali was the reason for Derek’s break-up with Andrea. However, Gali is known to be one of Derek’s closest friends.
