The newest members of The Squad Plus will be adding more fun and excitement to the group as six talented young artists join Dreamscape Entertainment’s teen barkada.
After gaining a following from their respective projects which include films, series, hit online videos, and modeling gigs, Keann Johnson, Angelica Lao, Danica Ontengco, Renshi de Guzman, Margaux Montana, and Raven Rigor are coming together to bring their individual talents to The Squad Plus.
Here’s what you should know about the new squadmates:
1. Keann Johnson
As a commercial and print ad model who has competed in numerous male beauty pageants, Keann Johnson hopes to have the same success as an up-and-coming actor. Fresh off his role in the award-winning 2020 MMFF boys’ love film “The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” Keann will get to spread the ‘kilig’ once more as he reprises his role in the said film, which will be made into a limited series by ABS-CBN.
While he has already won the hearts of fans, Keann admits that he still has a lot more to learn when it comes to his acting and dreams of working alongside veteran actors Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, and John Arcilla.
2. Angelica Lao
A fashion model since the age of 13, Angelica Lao’s on-screen presence and natural love for the camera has allowed her to gain over 300,000 followers on the social media app TikTok. Not only does she win the hearts of viewers with her dance videos but she also gives them a glimpse of her potential as an actress by doing short skits.
Posting videos on TikTok has helped Angelica hone her talents, but she still wants to develop these further by attending ABS-CBN workshops. Now a part of ABS-CBN’s upcoming teleserye “Marry Me, Marry You,” this Star Magic artists hopes to achieve her dreams one day of getting to work with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, and would also want to be cast in an episode of “MMK” and a Star Cinema film, and perform on “ASAP Natin ‘To.”
3. Danica Ontengco
Danica Ontengco has always set her sights on becoming an actress ever since she was young. Although she got rejected in her first few auditions, Danica never stopped chasing her dreams and decided to show her fun and bubbly personality through her YouTube channel, which has amassed over 600,000 subscribers.
Through her vlogs, Danica lets viewers into her personal life and interacts with fans for Q&A videos. With her determination, Danica was able to land a role in the 2019 hit drama series “Kadenang Ginto,” followed by the iWantTFC series “La Vida Lena.”
4. Renshi de Guzman
Talented actor Renshi de Guzman may be relatively new in the showbiz industry but he already has a ton of experience when it comes to acting. Renshi’s journey began in the independent film scene where he was part of “Bakwit Boys” and “Class of 2018.” He was also cast in boys’ love films “In Between (Sa Pagitan ng Kamusta at Paalam)” and “The Boy Foretold by the Stars.”
His latest accomplishments include getting to work with his idol Pen Medina in “La Vida Lena” and being a part of ABS-CBN’s currently airing inspirational series “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”
5. Margaux Montana
Margaux Montana began her career as a commercial model in 2018. Since then, she’s fallen in love with the limelight as a social media influencer who has more than one million followers on TikTok.
Aside from entertaining fans with quirky remake videos and fun challenges on the social media platform, Margaux is also a singer and music lover who often listens to LANY and BTS. She is also giving acting a shot as a cast member of the teleserye “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”
6. Raven Rigor
As a film and arts enthusiast, Raven Rigor has always been passionate about acting. While he just set foot in the entertainment industry, he is already able to display his acting chops as a member of Kyle Echarri’s barkada in “Huwag Kang Mangamba,” where he also gets to work with his idol Sylvia Sanchez.
While juggling his studies and responsibilities as an actor (he was named class valedictorian in elementary and high school, after all), Raven also looks to develop his personality by stepping out of his comfort zone. Although he feels pressured to prove his worth as a young actor, he has high hopes in showing his capabilities and would want to be able to learn and work with Nadine Lustre and Gina Pareño.
