Showbiz insider and columnist Lolit Solis do not believe that Beauty Gonzalez would outshine GMA Network’s homegrown talents.
In her column titled, Malabong Masapawan! on Monday, June 14, Solis dismissed the speculations that the transfer of Gonzalez to the Kapuso Network would leave Kapuso talents without projects.
“Para namang nakakatawa naman na sinasabing ang dami na raw agad project ni Beauty Gonzalez sa GMA 7. Sobra naman na para bang heto, si Beauty lang ang puwedeng gumawa nito, kaya hinintay ang paglipat niya,” wrote Solis in her column.
This came after the actress, upon her transfer to GMA network already has a project in store for her. Although Solis acknowledged Gonzalez’s acting skills, she knows that the upcoming shows of the actress are fitted for her.
“Puwedeng maraming bagay na role sa kanya, puwede rin na biglang nandiyan siya at swak ang mga bagong project na gagawin, pero hindi ibig sabihin sa kanya itatambak ang bagong roles,” pointed the columnist.
But to those Kapuso talents who have been a problem or have lost their shine, the transfer of Gonzalez may indeed be a problem.
“Sabi ko nga, ma-insecure ka ‘pag wala kang talent, naging pasaway kaya iniwasan ng production na makatrabaho, o talagang wala ka nang ningning kaya ayaw ka nang kunin,” added Solis.
This statement from Solis is backed up by GMA Network after a concern was raised that Kapamilya stars will hog all the projects from Kapuso homegrown talents. However, the Network stressed that they will always put their artists as their number one priority.
And Solis’s article reiterated how GMA Network has built their stars that can compete with ABS-CBN. Thus, the columnist urged the Kapuso artists to trust the Network that they will not be left behind.
“Hindi naman nawala kahit kailan sa rating at laban ang GMA 7 kahit noon pa, na wala ang stars na naglipatan/lumipat, naglilipatan ngayon.
“Nagawa ng GMA 7 na maging stars sina Ken Chan, Ruru Madrid, at iba pang newbies na galing sa StarStruck.
“Kahit pa sabihing bigger stars ‘yung nasa kalabang networks, lumalaban pa rin ang stars ng GMA 7. Alam ng management ng network what is best, kaya magtiwala lang tayo,” Solis said.
