Spoiler alert! In the BL film based on an online BL series, Gameboys: The Movie has a bed scene and the leads stars are loving it!
In the virtual media conference, Friday, July 30, the film’s stars Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas admitted that they were prepared with their intimate scene.
“Mga ganyang eksena, game na game ako d’yan, gusto ko ‘yan,” said Kokoy.
“Ako rin game na game. Parang everytime na nagka-cut, nakahubad na lang kami ni Kokoy, nakaupo na lang kami, game na ba, ready na ba next set-up?” Elijah answered.
According to the film’s director, Direk Ivan Payawal, they witnessed how the two were already prepared when they shoot their love scene.
“‘Tong dalawang batang ‘to, si Elijah at si Kokoy, they’re always ready. Alam naman nila na ishu-shoot na ang love scene,” he reasoned.
“Akala namin mahihirapan kaming i-shoot yun pero isa s’ya sa mga madaling eksenang na-shoot namin.”
Direk Ivan also revealed that he was given two hours to finish the scene.
“Hindi ko na maaalala kung ilang takes. I think binigyan ako ng AD (Assistant Director) ko ng dalawang oras para i-shoot ang love scene.”
The love scene was the first time that Gavreel (de Santos) and Cairo (Canlas) finally met in person.
The screenwriter, Ash Malanum felt that the two characters deserve some “love” after enduring months of not seeing each other physically.
“Well naturally, sa story naman kasi, di ba parang ang tagal nilang hindi nagkikita, na nag-uusap lang sila sa Zoom. Pero kahit nasa Zoom pa lang, meron na silang sexual tension.
“Feeling ko deserve naman nila yung isa’t-isa na gawin nila ‘yon. Dahil na rin sa pinagdaanan nila at pagda-daanan pa ng relationship nila.”
It is also his way of making a statement that gays have the right to manifest their love through physical intimacy.
“And also, lagi kong naririnig dati yung mga old people na sinasabi na okay lang sa akin na bakla, ‘wag lang gawin yung gay lifestyle.
“Yung sex it’s just a manifestation lang naman ng love nila for each other. So for me, it’s also a statement na rin na we can be gay and manifest our love.”
Direk Perci Intalan, one of the executive producers of the series and the film, believes that the movie should be limitless.
“Sa amin kasi, feeling namin, wala kaming dapat i-limit do’n sa possibility ng kwento at tsaka do’n sa characters. Naturally, nag-evolve lang s’ya.”
