Reel-and-real couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos had their show Love You Stranger postponed, but no worries, they will be starring in one of Regal Studio Presents’ episodes, September 9.
“Yes. So we are working on Love You Stranger pero mas mauuna itong Regal,” said Garcia during the show’s virtual press conference.
The two Kapuso stars will be leading the telemovie’s third installation, One Million Comments.
The movie series was part of one of the many projects that GMA Network and Regal Films had collaborated on.
Meanwhile, the couple also shared their experience working alongside the show’s co-producers.
According to Garcia, Regal’s COO and Vice President of Regal Entertainment, Roselle Monteverde, and GMA Network executive Joey Abacan were very hands-on during the production, ensuring that everything was ‘smooth-sailing’.
“Really amazing. Super smooth. I love that Ms. Roselle and Tito Joey they’re so hands-on. As in they see to it that mag-story con muna kami even if it’s just one episode. Ms. Roselle was there, she was present during the taping, very very hands-on.”
The actress also expressed her admiration towards Monteverde as the COO, despite her position, had her presence felt throughout the production.
“I admire [her] kasi kahit you know, she’s already the boss of Regal, she still sees to it that she’s present.”
Their episode will be directed by esteemed director Direk Easy Ferrer, in which the couple worked on several projects.
“We worked with Direk Easy already. This is directed by Direk Easy Ferrer, which Khalil and I both worked with before. So naging mas magaan yung set.”
Ramos likewise agreed with his girlfriend and co-star, adding that “it was nice seeing familiar faces after such a long time.”
The celebrity couple first worked together in the 2019 movie LSS. This time around, Garcia and Ramos already knew each other’s work ethics, making their scenes much easier.
“Right now mas naging second nature na sa amin. No’ng una kasi naming mga projects parang medyo may gulat pa.
“Pero now that we know each other better on the set, mas kilala na namin yung work ethics namin, mas nagagamay na namin working together.
“On the set with Gab nitong shoot namin for the episode was very smooth and very fun. We had no hiccups thankfully,” said the actor.
Added Garcia, in between takes, they tend to do what co-actors do on set and making sure that their personal lives would not affect their work.
“We throw lines before our takes. We discuss our characters. So we try to keep our lives on cam and off cam.”
Regal Studio Presents will start airing on Saturday, September 11. Its opening salve will be That Thin Line Between, starring Sanya Lopez and Ken Chan.
Catch the first three episodes on GMA Network every 8:30 p.m. It will then return to its original timeslot at 4:35 p.m., after Dear Uge, September 26.
