Christian Bables admitted that he planned to live in the United States in the past to start a new life in an Instagram post on Wednesday, December 29.
Bables won as Best Actor in the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal for portraying the role of Dharna in the film Big Night.
The actor said he felt unmotivated for his past acting career, which was caused by his anxiety during the pandemic.
He wrote, “Kagabi, habang nag hihintay mag simula ang MMFF Gabi Ng Parangal, kinausap ko sila direk Jun and direk Perci.
“I told them i was feeling weak. Humihina ang kapit ko sa noong siguradong rason at purpose kung bakit ko gustong umarte or maybe, somewhere along this chaotic times, the joy of giving life to a character has become unfamiliar.”
After being informed that his movie Big Night was included for MMFF, Bables decided to cancel his flight to the United States.
“I was planning to move to the US. Create a new life or maybe continue to pursue my passion in acting. Dala siguro ng anxieties dahil sa pandemya. But God moves in mysterious ways 🙂 The day i was deciding to book a one way flight to the US, nag message si direk perci pasok daw ang Big Night sa MMFF. Ipagpaliban ko daw muna ang pag alis ko, na ang akala ng lahat ng pinagpaalaman ko ay bakasyon lang 😂✌🏻
“When i finally saw our film, i was reminded of my purpose. I was reminded of how fulfilling it is to give life to Dharna. The joy of being the character. And the triumph my heart and soul feels whenever i give voice to the likes of Barbs, Intoy, Samuel, Chef Calix, Iron, etc. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang plan ni God, pero isa lang ang naging klaro sa akin. Gusto kong patuloy na makapaghatid ng mga mensaheng makakabuluhan through my art. Dito sana sa bansa natin, para sa bansa natin, kung patuloy mabibigyan ng pagkakataon,” he said.
Bables was also thankful for gaining the Best Actor award in the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival.
