Maris Racal describes moving on from a past relationship as a process

On March 31, Kapamilya artist Maris Racal described moving on from a past relationship as a process.

During the media conference for How To Move On in 30 Days, Racal said she didn’t have trouble moving on from a breakup.

“Thankfully naman, sa awa ng Diyos, hindi ako nahirapan, ever since, na mag-move on. Kasi, minsan sa relationship–sa padulo na ng relationship, parang unti-unti mo nang natatanggap na hindi para sa akin itong taong ito. So the moment that you decide ka na break na kayo, you finally accepted na hindi kayo para sa isa’t-isa.

“It’s a process na hindi dapat minamadali, dapat mag-take time ka whether its fast or mahaba, i-enjoy mo lang ‘yung process because that’s what going to make you who you are in the future.”

She then detailed her process of moving on, including writing songs, beach trips, and self-pampering.

“Ako po talaga since sobrang intense ng emotions, grinagrab ko ‘yung opportunity na ‘yun para mag-sulat. Doon po ‘yung time na sinusulat ko ‘yung mga songs na sad. ‘Yun ‘yung release ko, ‘yun ‘yung outlet ko po.

“And after that, after ng pagsusulat, siguro time with friends, pupunta talaga ako sa beach. Hihinga ako sa beach.

“Magpaganda, mag-gym, magpa-sexy.”

She then discussed how she moved on from her previous romance with fellow Kapamilya artist Inigo Pascual in 2018.

“Mabilis po ako mag-move on. Siguro ‘yung process ko na lang doon is siguro sa dulong part ng relationship pag na-realize mo na kawawa ka, and hindi ka na nag-go-grow as a person, parang mas mabilis mong matanggap eh, when you really love yourself na parang gusto mong ibalik ‘yung self-worth mo. Pag ‘yun ang motivation mo, super bilis talaga ng moving on stage mo.”

She recalled how another Kapamilya, Sue Ramirez, helped her to move on by being her friend.

“Pinaka ka-chika ko noon si Sue, as in kinukwento ko sa kanya from start, paano nag-break, lahat-lahat, inuulit-ulit-ulit ko sa kanya until na-realize ko na, ‘Shucks kawawa ka bes. Paano mo ‘to nakakaya.’

“Tapos ako na ako na ‘yun nahiya, tinigil ko na tapos doon na ko unti-unting namulat na parang, ‘Oh My God, ang cringe ng mga pinaggagawa ko these days.’ Parang kailangan na nating ibalik ‘yung self-worth natin. Tapos ayun diyan na mag-start ‘yung pagmo-move on natin.”

Racal then revealed how she knows when she’s ready for a new romance in her life.

“I can say na nakapag-move on na ako kapag may kinakausap na ako, may bagong nagpapakilig, na parang, ‘Oh My God, iba ‘to.'”

Currently, Racal is in a relationship with OPM artist Rico Blanco.

As for their series, Racal stars alongside Carlo Aquino, Albie Casiño, and Sachzna Laparan in How To Move On in 30 Days.

Joining them are John Lapus, John Arcilla, Sherry Lara, Phoemela Baranda, Poppert Bernadas, Hanie Jarrar, Elyson De Dios, Rans Rifol, and James Bello.

ABS-CBN’s first YouTube exclusive series is under the direction of Benedict Mique and Roderick Lindayag. How To Move On in 30 Days started streaming on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s channel on April 4.
