There are a few communities for “nerds,” but there are none like GeekTalk PH that safeguards its members’ interests.
GeekTalk PH is a group of geek content creators on multiple social media platforms that was basically founded on TikTok during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. But because of Joshua Navarro, through his will, along with his members’ help, the organization has expanded into more platforms like Kumu, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and many more.
“A safe space for geeks. A safe space for people with the same interests. A safe space where people can talk about what they love and not be invalidated,” said Navarro, GeekTalk PH’s founder.
In just one year, from being a mere topic on the Internet, GeekTalk became one of the most active geek movements, generating more than 500 million cumulative views across their social media channels.
But how could a newly-founded group engage its members? By holding various events such as block screening, talks, and meetups!
On May 4, GeekTalk organized its first-ever block screening event by watching Marvel’s Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
There was also a chance to win two (2) tickets to watch the movie together with fellow geeks!
Did you miss the opportunity to grab those two free tickets to watch Dr. Strange? Don’t worry! GeekTalk is only beginning its barrage of events!
This coming May 21, the group will have their first-ever “Geektalk Geek Off.” The movie they will feature? Star Wars!
The event will be a friendly competition among fellow geeks, testing their Star Wars knowledge while re-watching the Mandalorians battle it out across the galaxy. Not only that, but participants will also get the chance to win toys and merch from GeekTalk’s sponsors.
It will be held at the Corner Market 2/F at the Podium, Ortigas, with an entrance of P50 along with a P150- food receipt from the Corner Market.
Fellow geeks, join GeekTalk PH and assemble!
