Comedienne-actress Kiray Celis on March 16, recalled her realization after having a toxic relationship with her ex.
During the media conference for Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask, Celis shared her saddening experience with her previous relationship and how it impacted her self-confidence.
“Siguro ‘yung feel ko na hindi ako confident, or parang feel ko hindi ako maganda noong time na ‘yun, siguro ‘yung time na niloko ako ng ex ko.
“Kasi mapapatanong ka sa sarili mo na, anong kulang? ‘Anong nagawa mo?’ ‘Hindi pa ba ayos ‘yung itsura mo?’ ‘Hindi ba maganda ‘yung damit mo?’ or ‘Hindi ka ba nag-aayos?’ Kasi hindi talaga ako pala make-up na tao. ‘Dapat ba mag-make up na ako everyday?’ Ganyan-ganyan.”
She then shared her realization of self-love and self-worth after her previous relationship.
“Pero naisip ko na parang masamang tao lang pala talaga siya. Mayroon lang talaga tayong ma-memeet na na mga demonyong tao, hindi charot lang! Mayroon talaga tayong ma-meet na mga tao ida-down ka pero dapat mo pa lang malaman. And I think, hindi pa siguro–o siguro naging question ko sa sarili ko ‘yung worth ko kasi napunta ako sa maling tao.
“Pero pag nalaman mo pala ‘yung worth mo, kahit sinong dumating na tao sa buhay mo, mapa-tama man or mapa-mali, alam mo na kung saan ka dapat lulugar. So know your worth! ‘Yun lang talaga.”
As for bashers, she revealed that she appreciates them and how they follow her career as an actress-comedienne.
“I think hindi sa trabaho kasi pag work, hindi talaga ako naaapektuhan sa mga comments or mga bash or anything. Happy pa nga ako kapag naba-bash ako eh kasi ‘yung mga bashers alam kong hindi fan pero naka-stalk sayo. Alam mong hindi fan pero naka-like sa page mo. Natutuwa ako sa mga ganon.”
She is now in a happy and loving relationship with her beau, Stephan Estopia.
Celis joins the cast of Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask. The digital series stars Herlene Budol, Joseph Marco, Mickey Ferriols, Hasna Cabral, and others.
