The top rating Kapamilya primetime series is finding itself on the cusp of a historical milestone, as it inches towards its 7th anniversary on September 28.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s male-dominated viewers may have the time of their lives with last night’s explosive and adrenaline-driven action extravaganza episode.
Coco Martin proved to be the biggest star of the show as he once again performed some of the episode’s highlights.
Drawing a peak concurrent viewers of more than 340,000, the Pagtutuos episode saw a couple of deaths, including that of Sharon Cuneta’s Aurora. An official press release is yet to be made confirming the actress’s exit from the show. It can be recalled that Julia Montes’s character, Mara, was also written off, but no official farewell tribute so far.
The show notably has officially bid goodbye to major characters like Lito Valmoria (Richard Gutierrez), Don Ignacio (Tommy Abuel), and General Delfin Borja (Jaime Fabregas), in the last two months, alone.
During last night’s episode, however, what particularly caught the attention of Kapamilya viewers and netizens are the underwater stunts that Martin pulled off. His character, Cardo Dalisay, pulled off incredible action sequences during his stealth attack on Armando’s (John Estrada) men. What made the viewers chuckle, however, is that scene when Dalisay practically mimicked Flavio a.k.a. Ang Panday, a character that was popularized by the late Fernando Poe Jr. Martin also took on the role for a movie adaptation released by Star Cinema in 2017. Ang Probinsyano, itself, is based on a movie series top billed by the legendary action star.
Many netizens expressed their delight and even surprise seeing Coco pull off his impressive stunts.

Manay Giesam agreed with the ABS-CBN columnist post that alludes to Cardo becoming Panday in the series.

By how things look like, the ongoing encounter and cat-and-mouse chase between Cardo Dalisay and Armando may last until the end of the week.
On Monday, July 11, the series posted a new record-high concurrent viewer on Kapamilya Online Live. It won’t be surprising, however, if a new record is set within the week.
